Jackie and Kevin envisioned an intimate wedding day surrounded by their closest friends and family. Instead of investing heavily in a traditional venue, they chose a setting that held sentimental value: a boat wedding on Shem Creek; A place where they shared their first date. Their vessel for the evening was the Daymaker, offering the perfect backdrop for their celebration on the water.
Jackie and Kevin’s story is a beautiful testament to fate and the power of love. Though they grew up nearly 1,000 miles apart, they were coincidentally born in the same hospital. Their backgrounds and life stories are almost complete opposites, yet their love bridges those differences, bringing them together in ways they never imagined. Wanting an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family, they chose a setting that felt perfectly them.
After everyone boarded the Daymaker, we set out from Shem Creek, a place brimming with significance for Jackie and Kevin. With Charleston’s scenic waterways as their aisle, they exchanged vows under the impressive span of the Ravenel Bridge. The bridge’s sweeping arches framed the ceremony, blending natural beauty and urban charm, creating a stunningly unique backdrop for their intimate moment. Surrounded by their loved ones and the gentle lapping of water against the boat, Jackie and Kevin promised forever in a place that was both new and nostalgic.
After the ceremony, the boat glided gracefully around Charleston Harbor, offering breathtaking views of the historic Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and surrounding marshlands. As Daymaker returned to Sunset at Shem Creek for the reception, guests gathered along the dock to welcome Jackie and Kevin, cheering as they made their way ashore. Friends joined them back on the boat, enjoying cocktails and Champagne provided by Sunset, adding to the lively and intimate atmosphere.
Docking at Sunset created the perfect reception space to celebrate a day that honored Jackie and Kevin’s past while setting sail on a beautiful new chapter together.
