Services

I document weddings intuitively, leaving room for real moments to unfold without interruption. No over-directing. No unnecessary pressure. Just honest imagery that feels lived-in and true.

If you found your way here, you’re probably looking for something a little different.

You love Charleston—the architecture, the old streets, the marsh, the weird little details that make it feel like Charleston—but you don’t want your wedding photos to look like everyone else’s. You want something more artful. More observant. Less bright-and-airy, more thoughtful and cinematic.

That’s where I come in. I make photographs that stop you in your tracks—the kind that blow you away because you never could have imagined your wedding being seen that way before.

I’m a South Carolina wedding photographer, but I’m not particularly interested in staying put. If you love my work and want me there, I’ll go wherever your wedding takes you—from the Lowcountry to somewhere completely unfamiliar. Wherever it is, I’m there to make photographs that feel like you and the place you chose.

2027 WEDDINGS — NOW BOOKING

HI, I'M TAYLOR!

I want you to feel like you can completely forget I’m there.

Not because I’m standing in the corner with a long lens all day, but because you’ll trust me to know when to step in, when to back off, and how to make you feel comfortable in front of a camera without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.

You’ll feel taken care of. You’ll feel seen. You’ll laugh a lot. You might even surprise yourself with how much you love being photographed.

I’m a Charleston documentary wedding photographer, and my job isn’t just to make beautiful photographs. It’s to create an experience where you can be fully present with the people you came to celebrate with—while I quietly make sure the photographs are better than you ever imagined they could be.

The result is work that feels like you, but somehow more than you expected. Photographs that make you stop, stare, and think, holy shit. That was us.

01 — Film + digital, together
I shoot both film and digital throughout your wedding day, blending the two to create photographs with depth, variety, and a distinctly artful feel. You get the best of both worlds without having to choose one over the other. The Result? A balanced gallery of beautiful images that range from gut-wrenchingly sentimental to cool.

02 — Wedding Weekend Coverage
The wedding is more than one day.
From rehearsal dinners and welcome parties to the wedding itself, I can photograph the full weekend so the story doesn’t start when you walk down the aisle and end when the last song plays.

03 — Wedding Videography
Your photographs, in motion.
For couples who want more than stills, I partner with Star Power Productions to offer wedding videography alongside your photography. It means you can have a cohesive photo + film experience without having to coordinate two completely separate teams.

Why should I hire Taylor instead of the other 47 Charleston Documentary Photographers I just looked at?

book for your wedding

Skip the photobooth. Give your guests a portrait.

A photobooth gives your guests a picture. The Live Portrait Experience gives them an actual portrait—one that feels intentional, artful, and worth keeping.

Instead of a screen, props, and a lineup of quick snapshots, I photograph your guests as they are: laughing with their friends, dressed up for the occasion, and fully in the moment. Each portrait is made with the same eye I bring to your wedding day, creating images that feel more like editorial photographs than traditional reception photos.

The Live Portrait Experience is for couples who want something a little more personal, a little more artful, and a lot less predictable than the standard wedding reception entertainment.

Skip the booth. Bring in the portrait artist.

like a photobooth but much cooler.

Once you book, I’ll send over my wedding guide—a gift I’ve put together with thoughtful planning tips, helpful insights, and practical advice for navigating the months leading up to your wedding.

Wedding planning can feel like a lot. There are endless decisions to make, vendors to coordinate, and little details competing for your attention. The guide is meant to simplify some of that, help you make choices that feel aligned with your values, and keep you focused on the kind of day you actually want to have.

It also gives you a clear sense of what it’s like to work with me as your Charleston documentary wedding photographer. By the time your wedding arrives, you’ll know what to expect from the photography side of things—and you won’t have to spend your day wondering what you’re supposed to do in front of my camera.

FAQ's

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based in Charleston, SC and love to travel! If you want me to photograph your story outside of two hours of Charleston, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But not to worry, I always try to find the cheapest way to make it work, because capturing stories in different places fills my soul!

When will we get our photos?

Elopements are within 1-2 months while full coverage weddings are between 8-12 weeks.

Who is your ideal client?

You’re excited to bring the people you love into one place and let the day unfold naturally. The small moments matter to you just as much as the big ones. You have an eye for the details and a clear artistic vision for how you want your day to feel. You're looking for a non-traditional wedding photographer that prioritizes intimate moments.

Of course you want beautiful portraits of you and your partner—but you also care about your guests laughing, hugging, dancing, and truly being there with you. You want the energy of the day to live in the photos. The emotion, the movement, the in-between moments that make a wedding feel real.

How do you accept payments?

I take 50% of the total payment as a retainer to hold the date for you. The remaining balance is due the day before your wedding. I accept payments via Zelle, Check, or by Credit Card.

What is a "documentary style wedding photographer?"

Documentary-style wedding photography means letting the day unfold instead of constantly stopping it for the camera. I’m there to notice the in-between moments, the people you love, the chaos, the quiet, and everything you might otherwise miss. I’ll guide you when needed, but mostly, I’m paying attention—so your photos feel like your wedding, not a photoshoot of it.

Do you make prints or wedding albums?

Yes! With my digital gallery, you have the freedom to create prints, buy photos framed (wood, metal, canvas, etc). Wedding albums are a more personal and hands on experience. If you're interested in a wedding album, you can choose your favorite images and based on your budget, I'll lay out the images for you, send over a mock layout of what it will look like for approval. Every album is customizable for each individual couple. Album orders take roughly 2-4 weeks from production to shipment.

What kinds of weddings do you shoot?

I  serve all sizes: micro weddings/ elopements and full wedding weekends ranging in all sizes. I accept all versions of love and what that looks like, meaning I LGBTQ+ friendly. There is no wedding I could not photograph after photographing weddings for 5+ years.

What should I expect AFTER we book you as our photographer?

If we haven't already had a zoom or facetime call to meet face to face - we will schedule a welcome call where we will discuss all the details for your wedding day, special plans, and coordinate a timeline (if you don't have a planner.) Throughout the year I will be in touch via email for check-ins and will even send reccomendations if you're still searching for your perfect vendors :)

What if we are nervous being in front of the camera?

The truth is, every single person I photograph has this underlying worry or fear and I'm here to say I've got your back! It's my job to help guide and bring ease to creating. I'm always encouraging my couples to be as natural as possible, and if that's not always easy to do - I've got years of tricks up my sleeve, so not to worry! So, weather you love or hate being in front of the camera, I promise you'll do amazing just as you are and we will capture beautiful photos.

Could not have made a better decision with our wedding than get Taylor to do our photography. She bent over backwards to make it happen despite the date changing at the last minute due to a hurricane and produced some of the best photos i could have ever even imagined. So many of our guests commented what an amazing job our photographer did. These photos captured the pure essence of our day and will be treasured forever. Cannot recommend more highly!!

Simply put, Taylor is the best.

Let me preface this review by stating that having my picture taken is amongst my very least favorite things to do. I hate being the “center of attention,” and almost inevitably, I won’t like the way I look. Now, Taylor created an environment that even I, the self-proclaimed grinch of photography, was comfortable in. In fact, comfortable is an understatement. My wife and I had a blast throughout the whole process.

Holy moly. I didn’t even mention the photos themselves. They’re incredible. We will cherish them forever and feel that they perfectly encapsulate our wonderful day - and our marriage and relationship more broadly. The diversity of shot is tremendous; some posed, some candid, far-away, close-up, etc., etc. Perhaps my favorite thing about the photos themselves, in addition to capturing our love, is the presence and use of the nature and landscape. The natural world has been a constant theme of our love and time together, and I’m so glad we got so many beautiful shots.

Again, our experience all around was incredibly positive, and we’d both recommend Taylor to anybody.

I saw TLC wedding photography on Instagram while looking for a wedding photographer. I saw her work and immediately fell in love. We began communicating and set the date! TLC communicated clearly and quickly. Then, on the wedding day, she made me feel so comfortable and captured beautiful moments that my husband, family, and I can enjoy forever. I am glad we chose TLC wedding photography for my wedding!

If you need a wedding photographer, hands down Taylor is the best! She’s so easy to work with and wants to make your day perfect just as much as you do. Her work is just hands down phenomenal and she provides the photos extremely quickly. She’s so considerate and just wanted to make us happy, and that she did. We are over the moon with how our photos turned out. She gave us exactly what we wanted and more, the photos are just breathtaking. We have happy memories for years to come thanks to her! She was there to provide advice when we needed it, and honestly she went above and beyond for us. You can’t find a better photographer!

Taylor was is an absolute dream Her communication throughout our process was attentive. We did our engagement photos with Taylor in Charleston and she captured our wedding day in St. Helena Island. I am in awe with her attention to detail, her personality, and her hard work. Everything turned out perfect and we couldn’t have had a better experience!!!

Taylor did an AMAZING job with our wedding. We did not have a very set schedule and she was totally comfortable going with the flow. She had incredible suggestions on how to position us with the light at each photo location. And we had a lot! We were on folly beach, the hotel, downtown Charleston, and Bowen’s island. She also took beautiful candid photos as well. We ordered a photo book that she put together and it is gorgeous! In addition to the pretty photos Taylor herself is so nice and friendly and so fun to be around. I absolutely would recommend Taylor to anyone looking for beautiful photos for any type of event.

From start to finish, Taylor went above and beyond to capture our wedding day perfectly. She has an amazing eye for detail and such a natural talent for making every shot feel effortless and authentic. Not only are her photos absolutely stunning, but she also made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Taylor was organized, professional, and incredibly kind throughout the entire process. She helped keep the day running smoothly, all while blending seamlessly into the celebration. When we received our sneak preview photos, we were blown away. We could not be happier with how our photos turned out and cannot WAIT for the rest to come! If you’re looking for a photographer who truly cares about her couples and delivers breathtaking work, Taylor is the one. We couldn’t be happier or more grateful for the memories she captured for us.

100000 times over recommend Taylor to capture your wedding day! We were drawn to her from the documentary style of her pictures and her incredible eye for design and we're so happy she was available on our date. She got to know us as a couple and truly made us feel at ease the whole day. She is a professional at every step of the process but also very human and it was wonderful to have her calm and confident energy around us during the chaos of the day.

We hired Taylor to shoot our wedding in September! From the very beginning, she was easy to work with, very responsive, and truly cared about making sure she captured our wedding day how we wanted it! We were able to get an engagement shoot done prior to our wedding, and the photos turned out fantastic! She made time to come to our venue a month before with us to scope out best photo locations for various things: first look, bridal party, etc and put together a thoughtful package of her ideas on which area would be best for each wedding photo event. It made coordination of the wedding day easy since our planner and I knew exactly where everything was going to take place! Aside from the organization, the photos that Taylor captured were exactly what I was looking for! I shared a couple of ideas of what I wanted and she was able to capture the same shots! Taylor turned around our wedding album very quickly and I still feel the wedding love and emotions every time I look at them. Thank you Taylor for everything!!! <3

Taylor totally exceeded our expectations capturing our intimate wedding ceremony and reception. Having never worked with a professional photographer before, we had an initial phone call with Taylor to go over what exactly we were looking for, expectations, etc. I could immediately tell she was kind, professional and had a very intuitive nature about her. It was a perfect fit. Taylor checked in on us from time to time and prior to our special day were sent a questionnaire to learn a little bit more about our style and vision. Our actual wedding day was a dream and was captured so beautifully and authentically. Taylor made us feel so comfortable and her intuitive nature came into play when capturing photos of us. We are over the moon happy with how the photos came out! For anyone looking to hire a photographer in the area, we would recommend Taylor 10/10 times! It was worth the investment, and you may even gain a sweet friend out of it :)
