Amanda and Tim began their day getting ready at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina with their family and wedding party friends. The view from Patriots Point was so stunning. I couldn’t imagine a more idillic place to get ready on their big day. After we did the first look with the brides father, we rushed to Middleton Place on the trolly. The ride over was approximately 40 minutes to the venue. It was a nice break before the long day of wonderful festivities would begin.
The venue worked really well with planners to make sure we had lots of easy golf cart rides to take the couple and family members to and from. The property of Middleton Place is very large so walking around for hours taking photos isn’t ideal. Some family members were in their late 80’s so it was essential for them to get a ride from the ceremony location over to the reception area.
The couple and I got to explore a lot of the property for their bride and groom photos. They landed on the secluded area down by the pond near the bridge for their private vows. They wouldn’t even let us photographers too close to hear! It was really sweet.
This was my first time shooting at Middleton Place and it surely did not disappoint! The stunning views of the water with the oak trees and spanish moss all around us, it truly felt romantic. The bride and groom had a lot of fun running up and down their giant hill that overlooks the water. This was right after a giant hurricane, so we got really lucky on the weather. Like most storms near Charleston, the sun always comes out the next day shining beautifully.
Thank you to all the vendors that made this day possible!
