Sierra and Weston’s Park Engagement
Sierra shared her and Weston’s story that helped inspire our engagement photoshoot at Hampton Park:
“Weston and I have a story that feels rare but also familiar in a way. We’ve known each other since we were about 11 years old. We first met in 7th grade and were part of the same friend group all through those early years. When I was 15, my mom moved us to Charleston, so I had to leave behind our hometown. We stayed in touch, but it was more sporadic, just keeping tabs on each other. He went off to Clemson, and I stayed in Charleston to attend the College of Charleston.
Eventually, life brought us back together. Before my junior year, I decided to transfer to Clemson, and one of the first people to reach out was Weston. Two weeks into my time at Clemson, we reconnected—and honestly, we’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, nearly seven years later, we’re engaged!
From middle school friends to life partners—it’s kind of wild when you think about it. These days, we’ve built a life together, complete with our home and, yes, nine pets! Two dogs, four cats, and three ducks keep us busy. We’ve always shared a love for the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, camping, or just spending time in nature. Our first date was a hike, and Weston proposed at Acadia National Park in Maine, which was beyond perfect for us. We also love boating, playing sports, and, of course, being around animals—our happy chaos!”
For their engagement shoot, Hampton Park felt like the perfect backdrop to reflect the kind of love story Weston and Sierra have built together. It’s this beautiful, quiet space in the middle of Charleston, filled with sprawling trees and open pathways. We wanted our shoot to feel natural, like an extension of thier lives rather than a staged moment, so we brought along their dogs to join in on the fun.
Sierra and Weston playing in the trees felt symbolic, almost like a nod to their roots—how they’ve grown together since those middle school days, always connected to the outdoors. Watching each other laugh as their dogs darted between them, or as they walked together through the park’s pathways, felt like a small reflection of the everyday love they share. It’s the simple things—playing with their pets, being outside, just being themselves—that brought this engagement photoshoot to life.
The shoot wasn’t just about capturing a milestone but about preserving a piece of their life together as it is. We didn’t need a grand setup because Hampton Park and the time we spent there already felt like home—natural, easy, and filled with joy. Just like Weston and Sierra’s love story.
