Emily and Rob’s favorite place to spend time together is at home. As simple as it is- it inspired us to do their photoshoot at home. These two have been dating since 18 years young and totaling 8 years together. So, they didn’t need all the extra fluff. They haven’t really had the chance to do a professional photoshoot for themselves before, so I asked them what they love to do together and the answer was simple… “Drink coffee together and be at home with our dog.” Signing up to get doumentary-style photos of you and the person you love can be as simple as inviting me in to your daily routine. No fluff necessary. I love capturing images that make you think, “this feels like us.”
For Emily and Rob, capturing the essence of their relationship meant showcasing the simple joys of their daily routine. The documentary-style engagement session began with the soft hum of the coffee machine, filling their cozy home with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The couple shared laughter and tender moments in the heart of their kitchen, surrounded by the warmth of familiar walls that had witnessed the evolution of their love over the past five years.
As the camera clicked away, Emily and Rob effortlessly transitioned from sipping coffee to sharing stories about their journey together. The walls echoed with tales of their adventures, inside jokes, and the countless cups of coffee that had fueled their conversations. Their engagement session became a living, breathing documentary of the love that had grown stronger with each passing day.
Their four-legged companion, @thebullybru on IG, added a playful touch to the scenes. Bruno became an integral part of the session, his wagging tail and expressive eyes capturing the genuine joy that pets bring to a home. Emily and Rob’s love for their pup was evident in every frame, showcasing the bond that extended beyond just the two of them.
This documentary-style engagement session continued to unfold, capturing candid moments of Emily and Rob engaging in their favorite pastimes—flipping through old photo albums, sharing secrets on the couch, and stealing affectionate glances. The camera became a silent observer, freezing time and preserving the authenticity of their connection.
In the final moments of the engagement session, Emily and Rob found themselves in the living room, where Bruno joyfully jumped right into their lap! It definitely made for some great photos not only for Emily and Rob but for the three of them as a little family. The session had effortlessly captured the essence of their love—a love rooted in simplicity, shared moments, and the comfort of being at home with the one they cherished the most.
As the camera bid farewell, Emily and Rob were left with a collection of images that spoke volumes about the beauty found in the ordinary. This at home engagement session had not only documented a day felt so routine in their lives but helped show light on how magical it can be if you look at it in an artful way.
