As soon as you arrive at Springdale Hall, you understand why the property stays with people long after they leave. There’s a quiet richness to it—historic cottages tucked beneath massive oaks, layered gardens, winding paths, and interiors that feel collected rather than overly polished. It’s the kind of venue that naturally slows people down and invites them to settle into the experience of being there together.
For Michael, Springdale Hall carried even more meaning than that.
Growing up, he spent time on the property as a kid, making memories there long before he ever imagined returning one day for his wedding. Coming back to Springdale Hall as an adult—and now as a groom—brought an entirely different layer of emotion to the day. The venue itself already feels deeply rooted in history, but for Michael, it was personal history too. That connection gave the entire weekend a sense of familiarity and depth that you could feel in every part of the celebration.
Surrounded by around 75 of their closest people, Kelsey and Michael created a wedding that felt intentional, intimate, and incredibly reflective of who they are. Every guest felt important because they were. Nothing about the day felt surface-level or performative. It felt warm. Honest. Fully lived-in.
The design of the wedding was one of my favorite parts of the day because it felt so true to Kelsey and her family. With both Kelsey and her mom working in interior design—her mom owning her own company and Kelsey working at a firm—the details naturally carried a strong sense of personality and storytelling. Their color palette of pink, red, and green brought so much life into the historic spaces at Springdale Hall, creating this balance of sophistication and playfulness that worked beautifully against the venue’s timeless backdrop.
One of the most meaningful details were the custom lamps Kelsey and her mom made together using designer fabrics inspired by their shared love of interiors. It didn’t feel like decor added just for aesthetics—it felt like an extension of home. The entire wedding reflected that same feeling: thoughtful, layered, and deeply personal without trying too hard.
But underneath all of the beauty was a story rooted in resilience and love.
During their vows, Kelsey shared a metaphor about making another room in her heart house for Michael after the loss of her first husband, Gregor. It was one of those moments where the entire space seemed to pause. The day held both grief and joy honestly, without trying to separate the two, and somehow that made the love between them feel even more profound. There was such tenderness in the way everyone around them showed up—not just to celebrate, but to witness this next chapter with them.
Springdale Hall felt like the perfect place for a story like theirs. Historic, layered, emotional, and full of life all at once. The kind of place where every room feels like it has held generations of memories before yours—and where your own memories somehow settle naturally into the space beside them
